The Sauna Paradise

Discover the Sauna Paradise, a true sanctuary dedicated to relaxation and well-being. Spread across three floors, this unique wellness area invites you on a sensory journey featuring an exclusive Zen garden and nine sauna cabins designed to soothe both body and mind. The perfect place to unwind and recharge in complete tranquility.

The Sauna Paradise is a textile-free area and is accessible to guests aged 16 and over. Every Saturday, families are welcome, with no age restrictions. You can also enjoy our ladies’ sauna morning, held every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The Japanese house

A haven of peace in the heart of Bad Krozingen

The creation of the Japanese house was anything but straightforward, but the result exceeded all expectations. To bring this authentic relaxation space to life, a delegation from Bad Krozingen traveled to Japan to learn traditional construction techniques firsthand. The project required extensive planning, countless discussions, and meticulous organization. Despite cultural differences and technical challenges, the collaboration with Japanese craftsmen resulted in something truly exceptional: an authentic Japanese pagoda built entirely of wood.

It took just over four weeks for Japanese and German carpenters to construct the Japanese house in Bad Krozingen. Working side by side in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect, they created a unique place of serenity. The Japanese house was officially inaugurated in 2008 with a toast of sake and Gutedel, the traditional wine of our region. To mark the occasion and bring good fortune, rice and Japanese coins were scattered over the building according to custom.

All materials were carefully selected and imported directly from Japan by ship. These include cypress wood flooring, cedar wood walls and window frames, bamboo insulation and the characteristic silver-grey roof tiles found in traditional Japanese architecture. Every detail was chosen to create an authentic, warm and deeply relaxing atmosphere.

The large sliding doors open onto a Japanese garden specially designed to evoke the landscapes of Taketa, Bad Krozingen’s sister city in Japan. The garden was created by Japanese landscape gardeners in collaboration with the local company Fautz. Designed for meditation, tranquility and reconnection with nature, it offers a peaceful retreat where guests can fully unwind.

Stalagmit - The ice fountain

The perfect way to cool down and refresh after a sauna session, in the lower level of the Sauna Paradise

Located on the lower level of the Sauna Paradise, the Ice Fountain offers an innovative and natural way to cool down after a sauna session. Unlike traditional ice fountains, where ice falls from above, our Stalagmit model creates ice from the ground up, gradually forming a striking column of ice that immediately catches the eye.

The Ice Fountain continuously produces an ice column that slowly rises before naturally toppling over once it becomes too tall. Enhanced by sparkling lights with changing colors, Stalagmit brings a modern and soothing touch to your wellness journey. It is a true visual highlight that enriches the entire sauna experience.

In Finnish sauna culture, the contrast between intense heat and extreme cold is an essential part of the ritual, whether through a dip in an icy lake, a roll in the snow or rubbing the body with ice. The Ice Fountain allows you to enjoy this hot-and-cold contrast without leaving the wellness area, offering a natural and invigorating way to refresh your body.
